There are books you hear about once -- and then there are books that are everywhere.

Fourth Wing is firmly in the second category.

Between BookTok's praise, dramatic reactions, and nonstop recommendations, its hard not to wonder: is it actually that good -- or just loud?

The Verdict

Worth it....as long as you like some spice and don't raise your expectations too high.

What works:

  • -It's fast paced and addictive.

  • -Easy to read and hard to put down from page one. Unlike other fantasy books, you don't have to read the first 100-plus pages of world-building to get into it.

  • -Slow-Burn Romantic tension plus the enemy-to-lovers trope.

  • -A world that's immersive without being confusing.

This is the book you fly through. Perfect if you've (somehow) never read it , you're in a reading slump, or you want to dip your toe into romantasy.

Final Thoughts

Fourth Wing is undeniably fun. Think adult Harry Potter with dragons. Expect a compelling, dramatic escape and this book will deliver, but expect literary brilliance and you may be disappointed.

Rating. 4.5/5 stars

Would I recommend this? Yes. Especially for a highly addictive series.
